Fun
Activities in Los Cabos area.
The town centre has an old world charm that invites us to take
lazy strolls, browse the shops, and enjoy the many fine restaurants
and friendly atmosphere. San Jose is the more tranquil sister to
‘lively’ Cabo San Lucas, her partying neighbour 20 minutes down
the highway. The corridor connecting these two towns blends miles
and miles of unspoilt sandy beaches interspersed with modern resorts,
championship golf courses and world class surfing. Here are some
of our favorite spots for day trips in the region called Los Cabos
(The Capes):
Beaches
Widow’s Beach at Twin Dolphin Hotel is quiet and secluded.
Turn off the Hwy at Km 12 if driving or pull the cord if busing.
Beach access (Acceso a la Playa) is a rough dirt road.
Santa Maria’s Beach at Km 13 is a beautiful protected cove
for snorkeling. A must see marine sanctuary-bring tortillas to feed
the fish.
Chileno Beach next to Hotel Cabo San Lucas at Km 15 is another
bay for snorkeling and diving.
Palmilla Beach below Hotel Palmilla (George Harrison & Meryl
Streep type hideaway) at Km 27. A tranquil bay for snorkeling and
sunning.
Surfing
Scuba and Swimming
Costa Azul at Km 28.5 is the world famous surf break. Surf
lessons, rental equipment, surfboard repair & boogie boards across
the highway at Plaza Costa Azul. The beach and restaurants are a
short walk from La Jolla
La Jolla de Los Cabos Resort at Km 29. Swimming is safe
during calm surf, other days the wave break may give you quite a
thump so wait for the lull.
Playa San Pedro or Playa Las Palmas at Km 57.1 north of
Pescadero. Turn at the Agriculture research station & follow the
dirt road to the beach for a day of boogie boarding.
A long drive on washboard dirt road to Punta Colorada and Cabo
Pulma is worth planning for. This is the only live coral reef
in North America. Our first scuba dive and watching a 25 ft manta
ray cruise by made one spectacular day at the beach. Take a picnic
or discover a great restaurant in the middle of nowhere. This is
called the East Cape & not over populated

Cabos area.
Glass-bottom
Boat
Glass-bottom boat from Cabo San Lucas marina to the Arch
(el Arco) or Land’s End. These dramatic rocks are the southern tip
of the Baja where seals & pelicans roost and the Sea of Cortez meets
the crashing surf of the Pacific Ocean. En route you can choose
to be let off at Lover’s Beach to spend the day exploring. Be aware
the powerful waves make swimming dangerous on the Pacific side.
Desert
Adventures
Agua Caliente is a natural hot springs and swimming hole
found in a rugged canyon in the desert. Locals can give directions:
turn west off Hwy at Km 84 , 1 1/2 miles of paved road to Satiago,
left from the town square, past the zoo, then it is about 40 minutes
of dirt road following the power lines. Spectacular rock formations,
waterfalls and pools as you climb through a river valley. Need to
take food & water & a jeep; campers have discovered this spot. The
Hotel Palomar Restaurant in Santiago is known as the best place
to eat.
Todos Santos...........to follow
